Head of Group Category (Building & Industry)

Join us as the Head of Group Category for our Building & Industry vertical, a pivotal area within Allegro’s Commerce business unit. We are looking for a visionary leader to shape the long-term strategic direction of a category with massive aspirations.
In this role, you won't just manage a category; you will define how millions of customers shop for construction and industrial goods across all Allegro markets. You will tackle exciting challenges, from combating aggressive global competition (AliExpress, Temu) and local DIY giants, to implementing AI-driven findability features and building comprehensive end-to-end customer journeys (product + service). Main Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership: Define and execute the long-term vision for the Building & Industry vertical across all Allegro countries (PL, CZ, SK, HU). You will be accountable for delivering budget objectives, driving a projected YoY growth, and identifying major market opportunities.

Commercial Management: Oversee the 3P marketplace business categories, managing complex relationships and negotiations with key industry stakeholders, brands, and retailers to drive innovation and exclusivity.

Customer Obsession: Work collaboratively to improve customer satisfaction by ensuring selection exhaustiveness, price competitiveness, and closing shopping barriers (e.g., enabling installation services for products like tiles).

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Influence platform development by partnering with Product, Tech, Marketing, and DEX teams to improve catalog quality, findability (AI features), and promotional tactics.

International Expansion: Support go-to-market tactics and win share in new markets (including Ukraine and other international territories), ensuring our assortment and strategy are adapted for local success.

Performance Analysis: Diagnose risks and opportunities through multidimensional analysis of business metrics (GMV, EBITDA, Conversion, AOV etc), implementing improvement plans to maximize sales.

People management: lead a team of 7 reports to ensure the delivery of business goals.
We are looking for people who have:

Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in business development and strategic negotiations, preferably within the Home & Garden industry, e-commerce, or a large retail organization.

Strategic Mindset: Proven ability to interpret data, draw actionable conclusions, and influence senior leadership on strategic initiatives.

Market Knowledge: A strong understanding of online marketplaces, customer behaviors, and the competitive landscape (including local players and global Chinese platforms).

Results Orientation: High degree of independence, self-motivation, and the ability to work effective under pressure to meet ambitious targets.

Leadership Competencies: Strong skills in strategic thinking, problem-solving, risk management, and fostering cooperation across teams.

Communication Skills: Excellent presentation and negotiation skills, capable of building relations with key industry players and internal stakeholders.

Language Skills: Fluent proficiency in Polish (C1) and English (C1).

Additional: Valid Category B driving license.
