Join Allegro as an Engineering Manager for the Vento product team.

Vento (internal product) is a system for managing the lifecycle of clickstream event contracts. It provides a centralized framework for defining, validating, monitoring, routing and consuming event data. By ensuring schema compatibility, Vento streamlines collaboration between data producers and consumers, making your event-driven architecture reliable and easy to maintain. It is also a solid foundation for Allegro’s cutting edge AI and agentic ecosystem.

Your main responsibilities:

• People leadership & growth: Coaching, mentoring, and supporting of a multidisciplinary team of 5-6 engineers, ensuring their well-being and professional growth.

• Architectural & business alignment: Maintain a holistic view of the technical architecture, ensuring that engineering solutions align with the broader business context and platform goals.

• Technical guidance: Supporting and guiding the team in leveraging AI-assisted coding and AI-based user support.

• Stakeholder management: Collaborate closely with business consumers (Marketing, Loyalty, Sales) and technical stakeholders, including the Data Assets teams and the Data Platform Product Manager.

• Product management: Lead the creation of the vision for Vento together with the team, users and stakeholders, follow and implement best product management guidelines to maximise the value for the whole company.

• System reliability: Supporting the team's on-call rotation framework to ensure the 24/7 stability of our event processing pipeline.

This is the right job for you if:

• You are an experienced engineering leader: You have a proven track record of managing engineering teams, combined with a strong, hands-on engineering background that allows you to guide technical decisions effectively.

• You have a broad technical horizon: You possess an orientation across Big Data (Python, Scala Spark), Backend (Java/Kotlin), and Frontend (Angular) environments.

• You enjoy cross-functional impact: You are eager to drive your team's core deliverables while also engaging in company-wide initiatives, task forces, or working groups. This is an opportunity to have a real impact on Allegro’s data and AI ecosystem.

• You are proactive: You naturally signal issues, bottlenecks, or risks early without needing to be asked or prompted.

• You meet the language requirements: You are a native or fluent Polish speaker (essential for smooth communication with our fully Polish team) and speak English at a minimum B2 level.

• You value flexibility & extra perks: You are open to joining the team's on-call rotation (24/7 weekend/night standby).
